Skybrush Live 2.14 is out. This article highlights the main features and improvements since version 2.13.
Show suspend, resume and collective RTH #
Swarm-level collective failsafe commands are finally available for Skybrush Live Professional license holders. As this is a major addition to the Skybrush Suite, we have dedicated a standalone blog post to introducing it.
Parameter and firmware version comparison #
Two handy new tools have been added to the Toolbox widget for scanning and comparing autopilot parameters and firmware versions across all your drones.
Both tools are straightforward to use. No more sending time-consuming debug messages to individual drones! With the parameter tool, just list the parameters you want to check, retrieve their values with a single click, and review the results. The firmware check tool is even simpler — no input needed, just click and get instant results.
RTK preset management #
Starting with this version, you can define RTK presets directly in the RTK status dialog, without having to change the server configuration. Presets can be edited at any time and loaded on demand.
Persistent header widget tooltips #
The tooltips of the UAV status, Selection groups and RTK status header widgets can now be pinned to the workbench as separate panels.
This lets you monitor their status continuously during a show and use the group selection features of these panels to work with specific subsets of UAVs.
New timeline panel #
To complement the new collective RTH support, we have also added a new Timeline panel that visualizes the swarm’s altitude and inter-drone distance ranges over time, along with the expected time needed to bring the swarm home when the show file contains collective RTH plans.
The timeline panel is still experimental and may offer additional information in the near future. It is designed to give operators a convenient overview of the show being performed.
Additional fixes #
Beyond the headline features, we have — as always — worked hard to update dependencies, close open issues, and fix bugs. Most of this work is invisible to users, but the fact that Skybrush Live has remained a stable, modern interface for more than 6 years speaks to the strength of this continuous effort.
