Introducing Studio Cloud – freedom to move between workstations #
Shaped by real user feedback and evolving workflows, we have introduced a more flexible licensing option that removes the fixed link between licenses and devices. With dynamic license management, you can reassign your license between devices, helping you stay productive without interruptions.
This new licensing model is designed for situations where you need to switch between a desktop and a laptop, replace a failed machine, or upgrade your hardware. You can simply update the device assignment in your Skybrush account (within fair-use limits) and continue working on your new machine right away.
Dynamic license management is supported by our new cloud-based products, Studio Cloud and Studio X Cloud. Powered by our cloud infrastructure, they require a continuous internet connection, allowing license changes to take effect instantly.
Cloud-based deployment also eliminates the need to install, configure, or maintain a server backend on your local machine. Instead, you benefit from a centrally managed infrastructure that is always up to date and ready to use.
To use our cloud-based solutions, you only need to install one additional new component: Skybrush Gateway. This lightweight application provides secure, verified communication with our cloud services while also enabling accurate progress reporting and cancellation of long-running Blender tasks.
With Studio Cloud, our drone show design platform now offers two deployment models: local and cloud-based. This gives you the flexibility to choose the setup that best fits your needs and switch between them over time — even on a month-to-month basis.
The new major version of Skybrush Studio for Blender that supports cloud-based operations also contains other great new features, such as faster playback and render FPS, audio integration, or light effect presets. For more details, please read our related release blog post.
