Skybrush Viewer is a fully open-source component of the Skybrush ecosystem, providing a solid base for drone show visualization and validation before real flights. The new 2.6.0 release brings extra features for a more precise inspection of drone shows. See the changelog for a complete list of new features and fixes or see highlights of the new release below.

Inspector view #

The layout of Skybrush Viewer has been reorganized with multiple tabs on a sidebar. Here you can now find an Inspector tab with that summarizes useful general information about your opened show file, such as overall show length, drone count, availability of extra show components, and a detailed cue list. The Inspector view also contains a show clock and allows you to check the positions, velocities and LED colors of individual drones in the current frame after selecting one or more drones on the 3D view.

New hotkeys #

We also introduced a more fine-grained playback option with keys J and L jumping one second forward and backward in time, and with Alt-J and Alt-L jumping to the previous or next frame of the show. Note that .skyc files contain continuous Bézier trajectories and not baked keyframes, but the assumed length of an individual frame for stepping the show can be chosen in the Settings tab of the sidebar conveniently.

A new hotkey cheetsheet is also added which can be opened by clicking on its icon at the bottom right corner of the main window.

New translations #

All Skybrush components are community-translated on the Skybrush translation page. Thanks to the community effort, the Chinese translation of Skybrush Viewer become mature enough to be included into the official version. We encourage all users to take part in the translation to have your own language also available for everyone!
